Driftwood Branch Sinnmahoning Creek, 5/6/2009

This is the last place I stopped on the way back from my fishing vacation, and I only spent about an hour there in the town of Driftwood.
But I was quite surprised to find some caddis hatching, and a few fish rising to them. It looks like the stream is on it's way to recovering from the train derailment spill of a few years ago, and was really nice to see. Hopefully, the nice mayfly hatches will return soon also.

I'm going up to see my mother this weekend. She lives about 2 miles from the Driftwood Branch. I do expect to wet a line, but haven't decided which waters. Right now its between the Driftwood Branch, Hunt's Run, and Sinnemahoning Portage.
