went to my local ffo only section today and had some luck. i caught 2 on a bwo size 16 and 1 one a mosquito size20. i had a lot of stikes but couldnt hook up.
i ran into a nice older gentleman to whom i talked with for awhile. he also noticed the bait containers and harvesting of fish in this c&r area. its a shame. there used to be alot of nice fish in that stream but not so many now. i was able to talk with him again before i left and he had got a few on black midges and an ant pattern i think.
i did however have my chance at a few bigger fish. one saw me and ran away after a good battle of wits. he won...im an idiot! :-D
the other nosed my bwo and pushed it about 2 ft before he determined it was an imatation! never saw anything like that before. while i agree that c&r regs can create seemingly tame fish....i like it when it makes a fish that is very angler wary. again a battle of wits that i lost. eh.
anyways.....the northern end of the fly area doesnt have to many fish. though i did catch one up there. the middle section seems to be the best. the lower area is also lacking in fish. good day though. i didnt catch as many as normal but dryfly fishing has increased my pleasure for the sport. the one trout i caught jumped completely out of the water and caught my fly! pretty exciting. never had that happen before. :-D
