Fished the Donegal yesterday for the first time this year from 11:30 to about 2:30. I managed 2, one rainbow and one brown. I probably missed 4-5. Both fish were caught with a beadhead GRHE. I only had 2 with me and lost them both. One fell apart and I lost the other to a snag. I tried a pheasant tail, but I never seem to have very much luck with it. Saw a few other guys out, but didn't get to talk to them. It was a great day to be out.

Saw your report so I decided to go there after work yesterday. Hadn't been there in about a year and didn't think they were going to stock it until fall. It gets poached so bad there. Funny thing is that even with all the stockings, because of the poaching, the last time i was there it was all but barren.
I managed 11 and missed about a dozen. 8 of the rainbows I caught were wild. The others were fresh stockies. Wonder where the wild ones were hiding the last time I was there. I did miss one nice one that broke me off and missed a real nice brown about 18" or so when I pulled up to make a cast and he tried to take it as I lifted it out of the water.
I parked at the horse farm and waled up to the top of the fly section and worked my way back to the truck. Was the best day I've had there in a long time.
All were caught on olive wolly bugger, yellow wolly bugger and a pale white egg pattern.

I'm surprised at the number of Lancastrians we have on this board 🙂
Managed about 21 last Sunday (3/16) - all rainbows except for the first one, which was a brown. Caught 11 on Saturday (3/22), 8 brown, 2 rainbow, 1 tiger! Nothing of any substantial size landed, but nothing puny either, all 10 to 14 inchers. Rolled a few that had potential to be larger, but the one that is rolled always looks larger than it actually is 🙂
Parked at the horse barn and fished downstream one time and upstream the other. Both days, the water had a slight stain, although more so on Sunday, which I think helped contribute to the higher catch rate. Caught them all on black or peacock herl woolybuggers, with either bead or cone heads, size 8 - 14. These have been good to me, on Donegal and the Octorara this spring/late winter.
I was quite pleased with the stocking; fish seem well spread out and in good number and quality.
