We floated the D just above Easton from Martin's Creek boat launch to Sandt's Eddy on wednsday the 4th.

There was a ton of recreational boat/jetski traffic on the river in that section especially since it was a holiday and it seemed to keep the fish down. The hot weather probably played a part as well.

There were a couple of nice 15"-16" smallies caught in my group, but overall the fishing was very slow.

Nice report CL. I was going to do a solo trip Easton to Riegelsville but I ended up on the Lehigh with a good bud. We were out early, perhaps too early. The fishing, and the yahoo hatch, picked up as the day went on. The smallies didn't seem to mind the traffic all that much. I caught good numbers of smallies to 14 inches on minnow imitations.

CL, The section you floated fishes best during morning till about 10:30......11:00 am after that it gets reallyhot an the fishing subsides till evening an then dark. Usually Wooly buggers and Closer Crayfish work great as well as bucktail streamers too.
I prefer a floating line, or i now also use Airflo Polyleaders depending on where in the cloun i wish to fish. Poppers and big stimulators times work really great as well.this applies all the way to Rieglesville too.
