December Bee

My next door neighbors asked if I could let their dogs out at lunchtime today. My dog and I went over (fyi..their three golden retrievers are my dog’s bio-family).

While watching the dogs play, I noticed an insect fly onto a bush: the bee in the attached pics. I live on the Blue Ridge in the Linglestown area of Harrisburg and there’s three inches of snow in our backyards!

If you are going fishing nearby, may be try a bee pattern today!??🐝 🤔

During the peak of terrestrial fishing, my usual rotation of flies ESPECIALLY at Clark's Creek when I still fished there always included a bee pattern which has been a killer fly for me.

FWIW - I've caught fish in the dead of winter on beetles too...
