Fished from 2-6PM under mixed clouds and sun, with a good breeze. Stream was flowing nicely, with a little tinge of color. There was a contest a week ago, so the locals have been pounding this stretch relentlessly. Though there were way less fish than usual, I racked up a good score using bh caddis pupa, and an ant dropper. Ended up with several fish including some beastly looking rainbows, 2-20", and one 17''. A couple of small bookies in the mix as well. Maybe not the most technical of fishing, but good fun on 5 and 6X tippet. The fishing pressure was way less than usual, probably due to the lack of large nos. of visible fish. Released all but one, the 17'' rainbow was rolling despite my best efforts, so I gave him to another angler. These fish have little chance of survival anyway, but it's nice to have large fish close to home; they provide excellent practice, and I did put all the large ones on the reel.

Hmm, sounds like you had a good day. Was this at the park? I tried at the big hole next to the concrete bridge. Then the next big hole downstream with that log that goes into the water. I didtn see any fish or get any hits.

Mute, all in the park off Saw Mill. The smallest beast (17)came out of the pool just below the bridge, along with a couple more average fish. One brookie just above the bridge, as well. Another beast got caught on my way out right above the log where the water feeds that pool. After I revived that one I decided to call it a day. One twenty in. on the fly rod is a great day, for me; two is off the charts. Don't want to use up all my luck! As for not getting hits, I had streaks where I would hook some, then it would go dead. I really think a lot of fish got blown downstream in the storms. Usually I would just move to another area, when the bite quit. Most of the big fish were caught on a black ant. I live for sunny windy days like that; makes my fly selection way easier!

Take 320N to Route 3W in Broomall, then take 252 north to sawmill road and make a right. You'll reach the park.
