Great book. Easy read. If you
Like Gierach you’ll like it. I spoken with the author numerous times and it easy to see the passion- Being compelled to write a book.

He certainly didn’t do it for money and was an OG native trout angler after MR Montgomery and Robert Smith. His travels and tribulations on the back roads are very familiar to me.

People on instagram that fall all over themselves about posting their fishing travels don’t hold a candle to pioneers of native trout fishing.

Think of it this way now you can go online and look at a map and then I’ll tell you a button to push to go to a stream where back in the day you would have to go get a phone book at a big library or Call I guess information and spend a lot of money just finding the phone numbers for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife in Arizona or the United States for service in Idaho and see if roads are accessible, etc.. Respect for their and his journey.
