Weather Conditions: Overcast, 57 degrees
Time Fished: 7pm - 830pm
Water Conditions: 58 degrees, slightly off color, decent flow
Insects: lots of cream midges, several March Brown spinners, #14 tan caddis, some other small mayflies
I hadn’t fished here for over 30 years, shortly after this section was initially managed under special regulations. I couldn’t remember where the holes were so I walked up the old RR grade and fished quickly downstream trying to get my bearings. I passed through a lot of unproductive water (less than knee deep). Finally I got into some good holes. I was using a maribou streamer since it allowed me to move quickly and fish all depths of water. I caught 7 browns and 1 rainbow. There were lots of herons using the area. I saw 4 or 5.
There has been a lot of stream improvements made and other conveniences for fisherman, such as foot bridges and benches. I assume the local TU chapter deserves the credit.
