I took advantage of the last warm day of the fall and tossed streamers on Cooks Creek. I ended up catching 3 browns in the 14 to 16 inch range and missed a couple more. The leaves are still pretty bad and I saw very little signs of spawning fish except for 1 pair that I left alone.

Yes, you can't beat having that kind of a wild brown trout stream in Upper Bucks Co. While the size of the fish found there is pretty much limited by habitat loss during low summer/fall flows, it is still a stream with small to mid-size trout in abundance.

Knecht Bridge Rd covered bridge is close to the upper limit of the wild trout population's range, but the fish are very sparsely distributed in that area. Better to fish from the vicinity of Rt 412 east of Springtown downstream to the river. Also, Silver Ck, which enters Cooks within sight of Rt 412 is Class A in its lower half mile. A classic Limestoner without all of the aquatic plants.
