I fished the Connie last night from 6-9pm. The fishing was tougher as the water level went down and was crystal clear. Up until 8pm, I only caught an 8" smallie and some rock bass with the occasional fallfish thrown in. Everytime I got within casting range of likely hideouts, there would be a wave and I would spot sizeable bass running for cover. As the sun started going down, the bass weren't so cautious, and I managed a 14", 16", and a 19" right before 9pm. My job was just to hook them before I passed the rod to my 11 year-old daughter. Her face lit up each time a fish started peeling line off the drag or jumped out of the air. If you have kids, enjoy every minute of it as they don't stay young forever. All fish were caught on a #6 Muddler Minnow of my design that has some 'extras' thrown in that the bass seem to really like. Tight Lines...
