These guys sit still near you only for a moment.
One of my favorite things in the summer is the walk to the creek side through the dewy vegetation at dawn. Most people hate it, getting wet n' soaked but there is a quiet beauty in the process. A pureness not even rivaled in sweetness by the mists fade and the suckles arrival, because when I turn around I can only see one path. It is only in that nano moment that a dragon fly sits still, that you have before the wind will blow to dry the grass ................. and then none us will be alone.

5:30am-1pm

I should have fished Saturday when I planned. The water on the gauge was low on Saturday. I can only assume that a front moved in and it rained good. While the water was not high, just a little up but it was Muddy at first light.
The Bass acted accordingly and proved that photographing nature was more rewarding. I always heard that bass take a bit to recover after a front. I always find it to be true too. Trout recover quickly while bass linger because it just seemingly effects them more.

Did you know that dragonflies CAN fly across the ocean. I find that fascinating. Thousands of these guys around.

Nearing 10 or 11 a small switch turned on.

It was nice to see a good few of these guys. They have been struggling in so many PA watersheds. Caught them in the slack pools that wouldn't have produced a fish but dirt if it wasn't for the conditions.

I really love summer and tiger lilies.

Poked around a small spring creek I know. Didn't fish but did see a very nice trout 🙂

Afterwards, it got a bit warmer and the bass started to wake up. They were also in the slack edge water to the side, off of any main current, as expected. I still had to go to a chartreuse Nancy P streamer it seemed. I caught nothing on brown, black or white various patterns. Second I changed I netted 6 bass. Nothing super big but all respectable fish. I'm sorry the report was late. By now conditions are probably different.

On my way out I took notice to what had to be hundreds, if not thousands of these half drowned stone flies clinging to any vegetation they could for dear life.

Pretty Cool.

Great post. I loved it and it brought back so may memories of my youth.

I grew up in Camp Hill which is a tiny borough in eastern Cumberland County but the zip code is rather large and includes two counties, both Cumberland and York.

I did a lost of fishing on both the Conodoguinet and Yellow Breeches, and also Mountain Creek and it's feeder streams.

As I am getting older and still physically able, most of my fishing will be in the western Pocono Mountains, but I caght a lot of fish on a Zebco 202 in Cumberland County, PA.

The Mountain Creek feeder stream trout were mostly caught on a Fenwick fly rod with garden hackles. They were very spooky fish.
