Hello from a brand new member. I am from Bel Air, Maryland and I just started fly fishing last year. My brother lives in State College, so I have been exposed to it for years and finally got the bug real bad last year. My home water is the Gunpowder here in Maryland, but I like to try different places. I had read about the ALO project here on this site and gave it a shot over Labor Day weekend. I fished for about an hour and a half in the section by the mill. I caught a little brown on a hares ear, and it was missing an entire gill plate, but seemed healthy otherwise. I also caught a tiny little brown, about 3 1/2 inches long, with the beautiful markings of a wild brown. The biggest fish of the day came on a BHPT that I was floating along the edge of an eddy, and the brown measured just over 9 inches. Didn't see any rises, but I tried blind casting an adams along the bank. It did draw one strike, but I missed the fish.
This is a great site, and I look forward to contributing. I am going to visit my brother in October and probably hit Spring Creek and Big Fishing Creek.
