Finally decided to check this stream out. Fished the “slot limit” stretch which is artificial lures only and open to year round fishing. Judging by the amount of flies and spinners in some of the trees overhead, this little stream gets pounded. It was a disappointing experience to say the least. Water was very low. The stream bottom is extremely silty and covered in algae. Large clumps of loose algae also floated down the stream throughout the day. Had to clean my fly off often. There are stretches of the stream where wading is all but impossible due to the muddy stream bottom. I landed one fish that took a black woolly bugger. I hooked and lost a couple others on an olive woolly bugger and also lost a couple that took a nymph. Saw one mayfly from a distance. Hendrickson? No other bug activity. There are plenty of small trout in the stream but I’m in no rush to go back. If you can hit it when the water is high but fishable it might be worthwhile.
