I had about an hour to fish this afternoon so I stopped at the Codorus as I was passing through the area. Conditions were not ideal with bright sunny conditions and occasional very stiff wind gusts. I didn’t even take the time to don the waders and boots, I took the lazy route and just slipped on a pair of Muck boots. I did see a fair number of small tan caddis on the water and in the air. Trout were hitting the surface consistently with splashy rises so I assumed they were working the hatching caddisflies. I already had a 3 fly wet fly leader on my reel so I just went with it. Picked up a few pretty Codorus wild brownies as they were smashing the swinging wets. A gold ribbed Hare’s Ear soft hackle and a Breadcrust pattern were the two flies that produced. The Breadcrust on the point has always been a great wet fly pattern for me when the caddis flies are popping.
