Took off on Friday and headed up to some new water for me, Clover creek and Yellow creek. Left the house in Hanover at 3am and got to Clover creek around 6am... what a bust, no fish and no hatches. I was kinda looking for a new meadow stream trico fishing experience but was very much let down. Oh well, its almost 3 hours away and thats a little too far for normal weekend outings.
Then on to Yellow Creek and what a sweet piece that is!
Beautiful spring creek in the upper area with a ton of scuds and some good size fish. Took one on a scud and pulled a hopper pattern right out of the mouth of a monster brown that ran up and plowed my fly.
Down lower on YC was pretty nice as well with a good hatch of size 22 "blue duns" ??? Whatever they were the fish liked em and i managed three including a 13-14 inch palomino.
All in all clover, not worth the time but Yellow creek was nice and i will make the trip again for that
