Fished the FFO section today. The gate is closed so you either have a 2 1/2 mile walk or bike ride to get there. Water temp was 62 degrees and a bit off color. Water level was great with the recent rain. Caught 7 including a 9 inch golden and a 6 inch native. Nothing coming off but tried to get a few off the top with ants. Gave up surface fishing and used streamers the rest of the day. I missed more than I caught. Fun day and had the entire stream to myself. Not surprising considering the trek to get there. It's time to put away the 3wt full flex rod because it is not easy throwing a heavy streamer (or heavy nymphs) with such a flexible rod.

Nice fish and nice report Zem!!! It sure is nice fishing unpressured water. I don't know the regulations on Clear Shade Creek, but I may have thought about eating that golden nugget given the opportunity. Especially if it is in the same stream as that beautiful native. Good Job

3wt7x, The section on Clear Shade that I was fishing is FFO and Catch and Release all year long. The golden trout was a surprise. I wasn't targeting it and was surprised when it took my streamer. Not much of a fight either. Personally I would rather catch the 6 inch native all day than the golden stockie.
