Finally got a chance to return to one of my favorite mountain streams; it has probably been 4 months. The fishing started out slow, as it usually does. The stream is in the middle of the woods and there is only one house that borders it. This house has a Beagle which normally barks a few times and runs away. However, this time the skiddish dog decided to follow me. Follow isn't quite the right word. He mostly lead the way, splashing into every hole before I got anywhere near it. So eventually figured out how to trick the dog to try and trick some fish. The Beagle walked about 8 miles with me in all.
Missed quite a few but managed to get some pictures. Used a small brown stone fly nymph, small candy caddis, and #12 caddis pupa. The size 12 hook seemed to be the right choice because I didn't miss another fish after I made the switch.
