Third time in a week I've been up to Clarks but today was the first day I had time to explore the open waters again. Only saw fish sipping small stuff and the beetles wouldnt do their normal job, but surprisingly ploppin' hoppers has been really getting them. Somewhere over 20 caught today and double digits the other days as well. It has been really fun and didnt see ONE other person on the water today.
Hank Hill would finish those statements with "I'll tell you what."
Get up there if you can.

Squaretail, I have tried hoppers on Clarks recently but not had much luck, I have tried Daves Hopper imitation, which other patterns would you recommend, where you fishing above the FFO stretch?

Thanks

I was quite a distance above the fly stretch but the other two days I was in the fly stretch and had much the same results, only much less time. Alot more wilds outside of the regs waters.
I've caught them on Daves, but Joes or Letort hoppers have a more prominent "splat" when they hit the water and are my preferred hopper.
DO NOT let them see you and you'll have some real fun.

Just to make it even a little better fishing, tie a size 16 beadhd prince off the bend of the hopper. I get more fish on the prince than the dry. And Clarks has been on fire for the last month.

I only use about 10"-12" between the two flies unless it's a large deep pool, then lengthen accordingly.
