Fished Clarks Creek from 9:30a-3:30p yesterday. Started off morning by walking about 45-mins upstream from C&R section at the gun-range. No luck in this section, saw very few fish. Decided to walk back down to the C&R section. Definitely many more fish in this area. Able to bring single brown-trout to hand that was about 12 inches. It took a size 18 cdc sulphur emerger fished on-top, took the fly at the head of a riffle. Had a lot of followers today with emerger, small sulphur dry, wooly buggers, slump buster, but no other takers. Air was cool in the morning, but warmed up a little thru the day. Water was not crystal clear, but still quite clear. Talked with a few other anglers on the creek thru the day & they were having the same luck as me - lots of followers, but no takers. Was still a nice day to be out on the creek & try out my new Sage z-axis 4-wt & break in a new pair of wading boots.
