Clarks creek, Dauphin County, 3-08-09

The 1/2 mile stretch I fished had some 9" brookies and 2 12" brownies. Biggest fish were last years holdovers which were easily distinguished. Probably 1/2 were taken on top, mostly #16 tan caddis. Fortunatley, no rainbows seen in this section.
Unfortunatley. not one large fish seen in this section either.
If the regs sections are going to continue to get stocked like this, I'd rather see none put in, atleast on a wild trout stream like Clarks. Bigger and better? Yeah...right.
Already looking forward to the open water when the corn-chuckers leave.

Maybe they aren't spreading them out, but I didn't catch anything under 11" and I missed two really huge fish today. I caught mine on a variety of streamers, nymphs and sucker spawn. I had two hits on a black ant I was using as an indicator.

Hmmm....I'll have to check out another section. Might have to eat my words. Be happy to in this case. 🙂 But they were definatley spread out and you can tell they were float stocked.

Squaretail, they put some big ones in! I know the guy who float stocked and he told me so. But he wouldn't say which holes got the biggies..............On Clarks, half the fun is locating them.And I agree........after the worm dunkers and corn chuchers are gone.........yeeeehaaaaa!

I only had one big fish in my float (20+ brown). Squaretail, if you want to see some big trout go down to clarks around November when the browns run. At a lot of spots the water goes up under the bank 2 or 3 feet and thats where most of these big browns lay then feed mostly at night. Clarks has no shortage of big fish. Don't take my word for it, check it out yourself!
