Fished Clarks yesterday from 5:00 p.m. until dark with two buddies. Only my second time on this beautiful creek.
Water was very low and clear, 59 degrees. Fish were very active feeding on the surface, but as usual, were difficult to approach. Caught a healthy 10" brown on a tan, CDC caddis. I think most of the fish were on emergers, because many of the rises I observed were fish actually coming out of the water. Caught a couple chubs with an olive bugger, but the trout were not interested.
My friends each caught one trout as well (1 brown, 1 rainbow), also on caddis. Interestingly, one of my buddies caught a small pickerel on a chartreuse wooly bugger.
Didn't get any takes until I downsized to 7x tippet.
Didn't see any bears or (thankfully) any rattlesnakes.
