Water was around 60 degrees. It was also up and slightly off color. No fish were caught.

Hmm strange. I know for a fact that absolute schools of fish like to congregate not far from that bottom sign.

Well, maybe try Stony a few streets over. I hear it's also supposed to be a real rush for avid anglers

Did you try throwing large streamers at that 45 mile/hr sign? Looks like perfect cover.

WOW, 60 deg! I would have expected Clarks to be cooler given the bottom release...oh wait...

It's bottom release streams like Clarks that I think get hit the worst during these types of events. Because of the full reservoir and water over the spillway it will be amongst the last to rebound and will have the longest duration of high flows and stress on the fish. The lower Tully would be another example...minus the wild fish of course. Smaller (unimpounded) mountain streams with small watersheds rise and fall very quickly and likely did so several times over the course of this event. Some of the smallest, uppermost ones may even be fishable this weekend.

On a serious note, I drove up along the creek when they opened the road at 7am. Went to check on my sister to make sure they were alright. Several vehicles were spotted in Clarks. There was a Latrobe water rescue team going in to look for bodies. It's been pretty bad over this way.

For those that like fishing Stony.... it currently smells like fuel oil. I'm assuming there will be a fish kill on this creek.

Everything ok with your family Kray?

Not good news about Stony for sure...maybe the high flows will be enough to dilute it enough and get it out of there?

Our whole town smelled of fuel oil yesterday from the Swatty. It was enough to make you dizzy if you got within 100 yards of the creek. Hopefully everybody that lost a car in Clark's got out OK. I know my family up that way is safe, but I got a lotta friends up there yet, some of which are the "I can make it" crowd. Hopefully they can open a road in and out of the Lykens/Williams Valleys soon. I get nervous knowing they're landlocked, even though they're OK.

Unfortunately, there's at least 1 person that didn't make it. They've been attempting to recover the body since this morning. Clarks is really pumping which kept them from recovery. You'd have to see how much water is coming down that creek to believe it.

I went into Hbg this evening. 150 miles round trip because of detours and it normally takes me 10 minutes! I hope getting around for others is easier.

Where did the oil come from?

Homes along the creek, same as everywhere else.

Turns out it was a friend of my mother's. He was in his early eighties and trying to get to the hospital to visit his sister. All I can remember about him was that he was a nice man.
