Clarks Creek, Dauphin Co., 6/23/2010

I fished Clark yesterday. Got on the stream around 2:00 pm. The air temperature hovered around 90 degrees. The water was low and clear around 64 degrees. I fished the upper part of the FFO water and a little above. Took one brown about 10 inches on a foam beetle. Missed a few more on ants. I had trouble seeing my fly. I saw a few fish. No noticeable hatches and only sporadic rises. At least I did not get skunked.

This is a fine report but please be aware that there may be many "Clark" creeks in PA. My assumption is this refers to Clarks Creek in Dauphin County? You are correct, the Clark Creek is in Dauphin County and the date was 6/23/10.

Crap! I would like to place a public apology to Salmo who PM'd me some time ago about joining him on this trip. There was no excuse not to reply and I am sorry. I kinda filed it as a "reply closer to the time" sorta thing and forgot about it. My bad. Turns out I had a DR's appointment with the kids yesterday either way, but I still feel bad. Sorry again!

I fished it Thursday. The air temp was very warm but the stream is holding nicely. Caught 3 wild brooks, wild brown, and and stocked brown all up stream of the FFO section.

IMHO, tough stream this time of year. But beautiful. We (Redsun and I) were there from about 630-1030AM. Nice experience but probably not return anytime soon.

Fished Clarks Cr (Dauphin Co) today 6/27, from 1 PM - 4PM. Outside temp in the 90s. Did fairly well - total of 7 landed on 18/20 black ants(3) and red ants (4). Nothing on beetles or inch worms.
