Met a buddy for about 2.5 hours late afternoon til around 7. The water was very low and clear but the recent cool nights had the temp at 64. Air temp was 70's and mostly sunny. The bugs were mostly caddis and a few midges, and there was only one riser other than the fish that were coming up in the sluggish "Meat Hole" on our way out. My friend had caught a couple and hooked and lost a large Rainbow before I arrived. We fished only fast riffles and runs and the fish were tougher than I've seen all season. That said, he landed a few and missed a few more and I missed several and landed several. More browns than rainbows and mostly smallish though I lost the biggest rainbow I hooked. Still it was nice to get away from reality for a bit, and help a friend as well. Maybe it will rain one of these days......
