Started around 10, Water was a little high but clear, and 55. Few bugs were evident. Couple caddiss and midges later in the day. Streams were recently stocked, but the water was high and muddy when they did it; good for the fish. Fished a bh caddiss pupa all day and caught numerous fish; several were large, one was a beast! Moved to the main branch in the afternoon and worked a lot harder, and walked a lot more stream but added several more to the count, including a 17'' rainbow in sight of the truck on my way out.

20'' rainbow:

The brown was at least 22'' Net is 15'' inside bow
another nice one-16''

All the large fish were released; kept a few smaller ones for the smoker. Just a great day to be alive and fishing!

that top bow is a beauty. the 2nd one looks about right for cat food...LOL.

srsly, looks like a great day out.

None of the fish pictured were kept. I took home five smaller fish for the smoker; they were all caught in the most obvious spots near the road.

I don't know that stream and never fished down that way.You mentioned the stream was recently stocked, were those fish stocked by the state or a private source?

That was a state stocking believe it or not. I was told they cleaned out the truck at the hole where the two biggest fish were caught. Oh sorry for repeating myself this AM. Rushing of to work and couldn't edit in time. The trout I kept are cooling in the smoker right now. Breakfast should be gooood!

Oh man those fish have incredible color for stocked fish (nice fins too)
