Hit a small river in western N.Y. over the weekend. Landed 12 lost 2. Largest was a 12 pounder, ran me down river around 150 yards. Great weekend for them.

This type of stream report isn't useful to anyone. Without specific information on stream location, water conditions, effective patterns, etc ... this sort of thing is better suited for the general forum, or maybe your Twitter page.

Glad to hear you had some good fishin in NY. We respecrfully request that, for threads here in Stream Reports, that the writer provide the name of the water fished, the date, and the county where that body of water is located in the subject line (as can be seen in other reports). In the body of the report we appreciate specific info such as water conditions and temps and perhaps what type of flies were successful, how the fish were caught (or what didn't work) or hatches seen. Should you provide that info in a reply to this thread, I'd be happy to edit the title - otherwise this thread will be moved or deleted.

sounds like spot burning to me to say the exact place, but It was on the catt. in catturogus co. flies were by sandfly, stones and lake erie shiners. river was normal, soory no temp. last report I do on here also.

Snuffy, your original report would be fine in the General Forum. They are just particular that posts in the "Stream Reports" Forum follow a specific format. No hard feelings I hope?

he didn't want to spot burn the cat ....ooooooook , afraid it might add unwanted fishing pressure on a delicate body of water ......
Thanks. I edited the thread title line. How you feel about spot burning is something that you alone can decide and I respect your feelings regarding this. Speaking for myself, there are some stream reports I'm willing to do and some I'm not. Keep in mind, you don't have to provide every detail but some general info such as you've provided can be helpful for future searches by folks wanting to know about this stream. By sticking to the Name/County/Date format it allows for systematic searches by interested folks. Don't give up on writing future stream reports as we value your contributions.
