I went down to the Casselman River Delayed Harvest Saturday from about 9 - 4. The air temp started out in the morning at about 25 and warmed up to about 35 later in the day. The water was 36.5 Far. and the height was 1.8 feet with a discharge around 190 cfs. About every ten casts the ice needed cleaned off the guides, it made for a long morning.
It started off slow until we found the right pattern. Any nymph that was yellow was working really well. I ended up with 13 rainbows and my two friends got about the same. The fish weren't hitting to hard, we probably hoked up with another 30 fish throughout the day that ended up getting off. There was no surface action and only seen a few midges in the air.
The stream wasn't crowded at all, it was our first time fishing that section. We figured it would be a good choice since it was Marylands first day and the majority of people would be in the put and take sections.
