Dear dryflyguy,
I remember those recent ones but the one I'm taking about was really weird, and a little further back in time. It was in the 60's and low 70's for most of February. I mowed my lawn the first week of March that year and most years I don't bother with that until the end of April at the earliest.
Regards,
Tim Murphy 🙂
I tend to time things by the hatches I meet late winter and early spring.
About 5 years ago, I went to spring creek in mid march to fish olives.
And very surprisingly ran into Grannoms on St Patricks Day.
Only time I can recall seeing them that early.
Going back even further, 2012 had a very mild winter, and maybe the one you're recalling
Remember it very well, as my Mom passed away that spring.
We were planning a post funeral family get together - on St Patricks Day.
And the weather was so nice, I hurried up and cleaned off the deck.
And put the patio furniture out, so we could have people over to my place.
The weather had highs near 80 for like a whole week prior
Forsythias and daffodils in the yard were in full bloom.
