Fished below 13th Street from 0630 to 0830. Water was high and slightly discolored so I started with a BH wooly bugger. No action with that so I switched to a #14 green weenie (I had tied up some small ones to try) and immediately caught two browns.
I saw some rises so I switched to a grasshopper that I had purchased (never any good at tieing them) that had more foam than the couch on my brother-in-law's front porch. I caught three on that, moving up and down a stretch of flat water and targeting risers as they appeared. Missed a few more and put down a few more with that big fly.
Pretty fun morning at a time when I am usually fishing tricos and griffiths gnats and switching to #7 tippet in frustration. Nothing subtle about a green weenie and a hopper the size of a kid's bobber!
Now off to Ligonier and hopefully a chance of some mountain fishing.
