Started at 0630 below 13th St. Water was high for this time of year with a bit of color, temp 58. Sunny and cool.

By 0730 there were plenty of caddis on the water and many aggressive splashy rises. Caught 3 browns on caddis emerger fished on top.

By 0900 they had switched to sipping something off the top, but I didn't stay long enough to solve that (griffiths gnat was not the answer).

Of interest, saw a mink (ermine?) on the opposite bank carrying a small trout. I guess it was a good morning for him too.

Did you fish all the way to Binney? I have been thinking about heading up there since I have not yet made the trip yet this season. There are some beautiful and strong fish there!

I was down stream of the special regs area, by the old railroad bridge if you know where that is.

The SR area is good too, I always go there for the tricos.
