I started about 0900 hoping the temps would warm up at the bridge in Kable Town. This is a public access area stocked by DNR weekly for the next month or two. It is normally a small limestone stream that starts outside of Charles Town in farmland and picks up some small streams on the way. The stream was high and cold. The area is a public access area; and, while it did not have any footprints in the snow, there is always heavy pressure here.
I used a prince nymph and pheasant tail dropper with no hits in any of the holes. Heavy weight or not, it just was not working. I switched to a olive bead head wooly bugger and missed one fish.
The rod was a 7ft Clear Water Orvis with a Battenkill BBS reel and 4W line and a 7.5ft leader. I am not very good with limestone streams and I have not had much exposure to them. Especially when they are a foot above normal and murky colored.
I also stopped by the Occaquin, but, I was short on time. I think if it warmed up a little, things would have been a lot better.
This is also my first fishing report, next time I will get pictures. Thanks everyone.
