Buffalo Creek is starting to get pretty low in spots which is surprising based on all of the rain that we had in the early part of the month. Water clarity was very high. Crystal clear which made spooking pretty easy on the narrow stretches that I was hitting south of Rt. 422.

Managed to catch (4) Rainbow trout, 2 of which seemed to be very pale in color and narrow while the other 2 were the exact opposite. Sizes ranged from 10-15". Also caught a 10" smallmouth bass about 1.5 miles downstream from where I put in. Flies used were a ginger colored "Ginger Bomber" a pattern that I developed in the early 90's on the Brandywine River back east for Smallmouth and a Montanan Stonefly.

Hatches that I saw were limited to a handful of Caddis and a single trico. Other notables were the healthy dragonfly population.

Saw a black bear in the vicinity of Rough Run and saw a Bald Eagle as well. Very cool day.

Neat. I tried fished the DHALO section of Buffalo a few weeks back when we got all the rain without any luck.

Good to see there are some fish left in the stream.

Ive been trying to get back out there after work one evening and fish the lower stretch below the bridge in Winfield for smallies but havent had the chance.
