This is for the C&R section by Analomink.
110 CFS @ Analomink
Water temp in the mid 40s
Air temp in the low 50s
Overcast
Gin-clear water, waist to chest deep in spots
Fished from 9am til just before sunset. No luck. I saw one guy catch a small fish in some fast riffles. There were a handful of other fishermen around.
Midges and what looked like tricos (is that possible this time of year?) were hatching late morning but no rises.
Turning over rocks revealed a bunch of sz 14-16 mayfly nymphs and some tiny tiny cased caddis.
I tried pheasant tails, caddis, isos, streamers. Nothing did the trick. Perhaps my bulky indicator scared the fish away. Next time I'll throw a midge on...
110 CFS in this part of the stream actually feels pretty fast. I had trouble getting my flies down to the bottom in the deep parts.
