Made a run out to the Pocono's late Friday afternoon to fish the Broadhead, with the weather being mild I was hoping for risers or at least some good wet fly fishing. I was not disappointed. There were caddis and some mayflies (Hendricksons) coming off. The good, I immediately spotted a pod of 6 risers. The bad, they were working in a long glassy pool. Using my superior wading skills and cat-like balance I proceeded to promptly put them down. 🙁 Next time. I moved to the head of the pool and put on a brace of wets with a GRHE on the point, dropper 1 was a partridge and green, dropper 2 was a partridge and orange. I was into fish from the get go but as happens sometimes when I swing wets, I was having trouble hooking or when I did hook them, holding them on. Nevertheless I had a nice, enjoyable night. Hooking 10 fish with most being LDR's. Bonus was that I saw no other fishermen which shocked me cause the weather was nice and the stream popular. Flows were low but still fishable, hopefully Saturdays rain gave the creek a good shot of water. Water temp was 59 degrees.
