Bobbin

I do what Norm does...

Although most don't squeak because I like the tension just tight enough so the weight of the bobbin doesn't pull thread off the spool. If I want tension, I just squeeze the arms of the bobbin as I wrap.

Another thing that helps; because 99% of my bobbins are Materelli with the flat spool buttons, I also bend the arms so the buttons are perfectly parallel to the ends of the spool. This is a one time adjustment, done the first time I set up a bobbin and not something I ever have to do again.

How do you stop a bobbin from chirping ?
When I pull thread it makes a loud chirping sound .
Thanks

You can wax the bobbin holder,or the bobbin,or both.
Tying thread comes on bobbins that may be varied slightly in size,so,some are tighter in the bobbin holder than others

I have only bought stonfo bobbins as of recent and it's worth every penny. I have been slowly ditching my Dr. Slick ceramics for them. You can adjust your tension and dont have to worrry about bending things.
