I fished in the afternoon, fishing upstream a ways from the Meyers Run Rd bridge, in Moshannon State Forest.
The water was at a medium flow level and 56F around 4 pm.
There were some small bugs hatching which I couldn't identify, and a few large fall caddis. I fished mostly with Stimulators, and also a Grey Fox Variant.
The stream is about 25 feet wide in this area. Many people go to the delayed harvest area on Black Mo, but I think some of the other sections further down in the state forest are more enjoyable.
The fishing was not real fast, but I caught some. About 3 stocked browns, a similar number of small wild browns. Also caught a few small native brookies, and missed a bunch more.
I saw a bear cub along the road as I was leaving, and about 8 deer.
There were a lot of people out enjoying the fall weather, but I saw no one else trout fishing on Black Mo Creek.
