Big Spring, Cumberland County, 9/13/11

Fished from 0900 till about 1400 upstream from the first parking lot of the C&R area. Water was a little high and didn’t take the temp but believe it was cool enough especially after I fell in and filled my boots up with mud and water. (Still a little shaky after getting new knee). No apparent hatch, but I did well on #16/18 tan caddis with a #20 BWO behind. Landed over a dozen beautiful rainbows but none of them were over 12”. Fished to a monster bow about 20 yards above the bridge for a while and was hoping for a story like Sal had in his last trip here but just couldn’t make it happen. Still a great day and today it’s back to work.

Actually I was thinking about you when I was there. Met a guy with Georgia plates in the parking lot on my way out and he said he was on his way back home from a Bamboo rod convention in upstate New York. Some of you guys REALLY like cane.
