Fished Big Spring's CR section from 1-5 yesterday (3/17). Bright and sunny with a fair amount of EB stones doing egg laying flights along with some midges and possibly small tan caddis. Spotted some sporadic risers and managed 5 takes with three to hand (only took shots of two rainbows, the third -a 10 in brown squirmed off the hook as I fumbled with my camera). Fat, healthy looking fish. Fished a #20 tan midge dry with a tan #22 pupae. Only the little guy took the dry. Tried for some big bows and a brown I spotted holding tight in shallow water but lined them (big surprise). All in all a good day. Debating trying again since today's weather looks like it'll be much better. I'm thinking with this fog and clouds some olives will come off. I'm going to try uploading shots below but haven't tried before so I'm making no promises.

must be doing something wrong. The file size was right and I hit upload but I noticed then the file name disappeared from the browse window. Oh, well. I'll figure it out later. Time to get motivated about fishin'

Went out again Sunday and had a slow morning with one small bow on a tan midge pupae. Got to talking to a very nice guy who was kind enough to give me some advice re: cress bugs and a fly. Managed three takes on it but missed each. Beautiful day though. Sitting on the bank eating my lunch, I couldn't believe it was still winter- felt like a nice may or june day.
