Fished Big Spring today from about 10 to 3. Air temp was in the 40s, overcast and windy, and water temp was right around 50. Got 4 or 5 smaller rainbows and brookies on cress bugs and midges. Missed some more small ones and a couple nicer fish. The water was clear as usual but it was high and lots of mud on the banks from the recent rain and snow melt. I didn't see as many larger fish in the ditch as usual, which could mean they were just well hidden or that they moved somewhere downstream.

I fished Big Spring as well today from 8-10:30 and then stopped at Letort on my way home. I missed a nice size bow second cast in at the lower end of the ditch. I had a lot of short strikes throughout the ditch. I did end up landing a decent brookie further downstream. It was a tough day with the wind but it was good to be out. I was using streamers all day.

I concur on the muddy banks. The lots from Nealy Rd up were empty at 8am but the upper lots filled up fast by the time I was leaving. A tough day fishing beats work any day. Cheers!

Try a shorter tail on the streamers when you get short strikes.
