Overcast and dreary most of the day was, but fishing was not bad.
Fished\ below the ditch and caught a few brook trout of nice size. Mainly using shrimp patterns. Moved downstream and fished nymphs Caught 4 rainbows. Brook trout are still spawning so watch were your are wading. Did see some brook trout in the new improvement areas. I was beginning to think they were only limited to ditch until yesterday.

Fishing on the letort and big spring was fantastic today. Perfect conditions

I was there on Sunday. I got my normal skunk while attempting to nymph.

I also was treated to a fine example of fly fishing etiquette from two senior fly fishers. Just as we pulled into the ditch, two guys were standing at the gauge dam. They saw us pull in, one immediately ran up stream, the other to his vehicle. It reminded me why I stick to unnamed mountain streams nobody but me would think to fish.

Just for the record I was not one of the "senior" fly fisherman. 🙂
When I fished below the ditch no one was there. I lleft, drove to the lower parking area ( about 1 pm) and fished alone for about 1 hour when two older gentlemen arrived. I moved down toward the end of the improvement area. Another younger guy showed up about 15 mins. after the other fisherman arrived.

Foxgap and I hit it for a few hrs on Friday Dec 20th hoping to see some olives with the warm temps but it just never happened. We ended up with a few Bows and Brookie despite the lack of bugs.

For the record, it didn't really bother me if people want to be that way. I expect it on popular and well publicized streams. It was almost dark when we arrived at the ditch. It was a last ditch effort (pun intended).
