I fished Big Hunting Creek yesterday, and took the opportunity to enjoy the nice spring weather. Stream conditions were great, moderate flow, clear and about 47 degrees. The hatches were impressive as well. A lot of midges, size 14 brown stoneflies, a couple QGs and most importantly Hendricksons. I fished the canyon section with a size 14 male hendrickson parachute pattern, and I just had a blast. I lost track of fish count at about 10, but it was steady from about 0100pm-0600pm. The highlight of the day were a pair of 12 inch wild browns that really put a nice fight on, although I did catch a large 16 inch stocked rainbow. Thanks again to Zenherper for the Avid 3wt...that rod was perfect for fishing Hunting Cr. Enjoy the pics and I hope to see some of you on the water soon.
