Fished it for a few hours yesterday. A few rainbows and browns, some of them looked to be holdovers from last year. Flow was pretty normal, didn't get a water temp. All fish were taken on a white zoo cougar.

Nice!

Pain to tie them, but I've been killing the fish on them so far, and it brings out the big ones.

I drove up to the cement plant last year on Bear. water looked very slow and flat not what I had expected. So I headed elsewhere.

Heard there are native upstream but can't confirm.

Yeah, I've caught wild ones, noone near the DHALO though. The DHALO stretch pretty much has 1, maybe 2 good runs where all of the trout are and that's where everyone fishes.

There are wild fish there, but probably only 9 months of the year, it gets pretty warm most years, last year being one of those years. I doubt you caught any holdovers there, unless it was stocked during the fall.

What size was the zoo cougar and length? I've tied a few in olive but very big. I suspect they should be smaller for arond here.

Idk if it got a random fall stocking, they looked to be holdovers, but I guess i could be wrong. The zoo cougars I use are size 6.
