Arrived at the stream at 6:45 and trout were actively feeding on the surface. Air temp in 70's, overcast with intermittent rain drops. Had rained overnight. Stream thermo had broken, so could not take temp. Water was low and clear.

Trout were feeding on a cream midge, about a size 26 / 28. Problem was, smallest cream midge I had was a 24. Had too many trout nose up to it and reject it. A few tricos appeared about 7:45, and I do mean a few. Very disappointing hatch. Few fishermen on the water, relative to what I have seen.

Between the cream midge and the few tricos, managed to land enough to keep it interesting. Nothing of size, just the standard issue YBC 10-12" brown trout.
