A friend and I headed out to Western Maryland late Friday night for a 2 day fishing trip. The air temps were low Saturday morning it was around 13 degrees but warmed up to 32 in the afternoon. Sunday was much warmer as it stayed above freezing the entire day getting to the mid 40s. The Savage was high but clear, flowing at 330 cfs and around 53 degrees both days. The North Branch was at 375 cfs with water temps in the high fifties. There were no significant hatches on the North Branch but we did see some cream midges on the Savage(no rising fish though). We caught plenty of fish both days it was a much needed trip out.
