Jay I already said it did. read back in my posts.
I said, "I dont think anyone isnt saying that it doesnt add traffic."
And the point is that adding traffic to a spot that can't really handle it without the fishing going downhill, for whatever your reason, is inconsiderate.
At a place like valley, the fishing has suffered. It's just too crowded, too often.
But whatever. Valley is a major limestone stream, and not really the kind of stream that I worry about. It's smaller wild trout streams that are near urban areas, that have traditionally been a good bet for relative solitude that I worry about. It's simply impossible to advertise them without screwing the fishing up for everyone that currently enjoys them.
And that leads me to say that it's a pretty crappy thing to do.
It's not that there's an exclusivity thing. Bring whomever you want. It just seems to be in remarkably poor taste to publicly advertise it to an unlimited number of people.
I really am trying to understand arguments to the contrary, but I am unable to see their merit. And that's saying something, because I was, at one time, a very vocal supporter of posting info on any stream.
Again, it's about BROADCASTING good reports about a stream. There is no exclusivity, and you should fish it when you want, with whomever you want. It just seems to me to be very tasteless to broadcast it when a PM, email, or face to face conversation will do.
