Spot Burning...Gim me a break

If you are concerned about landowner reaction to greater traffic, have you ever considered staying away from your secret stream once it has been revealed? Be honest.

Yes. No lie.

Just as I choose to fish the stream(s) only occasionally.

ah Sallymander...i dont fish that stream nearly as much as you think...streams chock full of 10 inch fish dont do much...(niether do streams with pellet fed atrocities) so we most likely wont bump into each other on the water anytime soon alas.. :-( however it is the principle...

Well, then, there you have the solution: when someone outs your secret stream, go find a new one and leave your special water to all the new folks to enjoy. End of discussion, right?

jack are you going senile on the internet for all to see??

half the things that spew from your keyboard make no sense? why would you even try and pose that question to J? you're just trying to get him to say what you want so you can follow up with your big winning statement at the end... this isnt a cross examination with a half asleep jury...please try and do better...

Is it really? This is usually the last resort argument when others have failed and it is usually hogwash, McCrackhead*.

*Just wanting to see if you are a little offended by someone perverting your username in an effort to belittle you.

Assuming the stream only gained one more regular angler, then yes. Assuming it gained more, I don't get your point.

And regardless, I still have the right to be annoyed by losing the ability to fish the stream without jeopardizing open access, due to the inconsiderate need to publicly post the location.

And besides, a simple spike in traffic over a few week period* may be enough to annoy the landowner to the extent of posting his property. As I said, I can guarantee that many landowners allow access under the assumption that the location will not be publicly advertised.

*which I think you may have agreed is possible, if not probable... but I do not remember.

nah jack... i have a little thicker skin and quite honestly lots of this discourse makes me smile :-D thats the truth too...

And you are going childish on the internet. Most of what you type is self-serving garbage.

Most of what everyone types is self serving in one way or another...

Really?

Interesting cause i know four anglers that know you from other message boards and have seen you in that area. Funny. Guess i can trust you over them Collin.

between your comments here, and your clear loss of intellect on the other thread...i can only blame senility....

Jack,

Assuming you know of a resource that experiences limited use. The landowner allows it to be used in such a manner, obviously because it causes him little inconvenience.

Is it not obvious that publicly advertising this resource is at the very least distasteful, and at the very most unethical/scummy?

i can count how many times i have fished the stream from the other post on one hand, and i dont need all my fingers... first names are grand, if they were intended, you'd have yours in your handle as well...please respect some semblance of ettiquete

and i fished lititz run all of ONE time 3 years ago...and wasnt particularly moved...so apparently the people you "know" dont know what they are talking about

I'm a 10%er, with the exception that we should post names when the stream needs help.

I've recently decided that our North Central streams need all the publicity they can get (streams do need friends) as a means to wake up the yahoos in the cities that think this area is a good place to rape and balance the budget.

I'll change my mind about this when they drill the first Marcellus Shale well in inner-city Harrisburg, Philly or Pittsburgh (or the headwaters of Spring Creek, Penns Creek, the Letort, Yellow Breeches, the Delaware, etc) and then those people will realize it's not a good idea since it's in their back yard or someplace they really love and need.

You sound really hold your tongue when questioning Jacks intellect.
He and I dont see eye to eye 99 percent of the time but I dont think hes going senile. In fact the man is very smart and has gotten me to see the otherside of the fence more than once.

He did that without insulting me too. I think if he would have, anything he would have said would have fallen on deaf ears.

when you climb on a soap box...you get what you ask for sal...

and really go read the posts in the other thread, they got less and less intelligent to the point where they made absolutely NO sense, as pointed out by a few other posters...

cmkrachen,

Jack's most likely the most intelligent poster on this board. He's just a turd. :-D
