The Cumberland Valley Fly Fishing Expo will be held next Sat & Sunday at the TCO fly shop and along the lake, next Sat & Sun, Aug 8 & 9.

Moved from Allenberry Resort, which previously hosted it before turning on the fly fishing community. (As a reminder, Allenberry’s actions are not supportive of the fly fishing community and your dollars are better spent elsewhere.).

Usually a good time for all.

Planning on heading up on Saturday with a fall back to Sunday if life gets in the way.

Saturday is out and Sunday it is. I'm more interested in the seminars and tying demos on Sunday.

I enjoyed it in the past especially the opportunity to test out some of the fly rods from different makers. Of course I don't need a thousand dollar rod but fun anyway.

Plus Troegs. Always a bonus. Seem this year has more variety in the food truck department as well.

Went this morning first thing, as that fit my schedule best. Worked out well, as I avoided a bit of rain shortly after I left. Really enjoyed the layout and variety of vendors. Having the TCO shop open for demo's helped spread the people out a bit.

On my way in drove past Allenberry resort, which looked dead. About as dead as they are to the fly fishing community in the Cumberland Valley. Met some nice folks from a neighboring TU chapter and caught up with good things happening in their area.

All in, a good visit.
