Stop caring if you lose fish. Seriously, best advice ever given to help me. Advanced tactic here. Laugh and tell the fish you don’t want him getting your net slimy or any photos of him. Fish never cooperate. He will be practically jumping in your net for a photo.
Relax, enjoy the fight, think positive. Keep a bend in the rod at all times and good things will happen.
Fighting fish is somewhat luck and percentage based. It’s possible you are just in a rut of bad luck and about to go on a streak of landing a high percentage of fish.
Unless you are fishing for little brook trout. Then prepare to continue to lose lots of fish as has been previously stated.
It’s a numbers game. Keep at it! Hook more, land more. Keeping tension and preventing slack in your line will help in the landing department.
