Two reasons come to mind. Some people think stocked trout are easier to catch. Some people think more trout equals easier catches. No one is talking about access, except the folks who insist the stream is stocked. Who is taking away access from class A streams? What citizen all of a sudden won't have access rights if that stream isn't stocked?
Once again (I asked this before and it wasn't answered): WHY do folks insist that stocking occur over naturally reproducing populations of trout? What is accomplished by this? There's no loss of access, there's no loss of opportunity. All that's "lost" is an artificial fishery injected upon a natural one. Why are people so married to what is plastic?
