I have seen the term 'Flat Brimmer' used on occasion here and was wondering what qualifies a fly fisher as one, in your eyes.

Never heard the term until put up here, but I thought it meant someone who wore a boater:
Well yeah, Pcray, I get the brim part hahaha. Just figured that there had to be more to it.

Redington sent me a free hat once and of course it was the only flat brimmed hat on their website. It was also the most expensive hat but I would have preferred it if they sent me a hat that tends to fit me, as a person and my style, a little better. It is a high quality wool blend hat so I wear it sometimes because it is nice and it was free, but I feel a little goofy wearing a flat brimmed hat. I am not fishing to impress people with my clothing style and still feel a little weird in the hat, but I don't care if someone judges me for the hat I'm wearing. I'll still wear it occasionally. Although my ascot and my aviators I think makes for a better look. Lol

Chad Brown may be the ultimate flat brimmer. Happen to think what he's doing is pretty cool and if I was half my age I would get a hat just to support him.
